					<title>A King is born!</title>
					<link>http://livemusicmedia.net/blogs.cfm?feature=2208116&amp;postid=2085747</link>
					<description>Back in the fall of 2011 we found a stray kitten, all alone at the local pet store.&amp;nbsp;A black n white (Tuxedo Cat) they call it. I have a thing for God&apos;s fury creatures so with a nod of acceptance from the true King of the house (my husband) we welcomed the little one into our home. The pet store thought it was a boy, so he started out as Mario (Named by our son) then upon the vets determination that he was a she, she became &amp;quot;Mittens&amp;quot; in honor of her additional toe on each of her paws.&amp;nbsp; However the prince of the family did not approve and quickly mittens became &amp;quot;Snoki.&amp;quot; Yes the prince is a teenager who watches Jersey Shore.

I simply fell for this Kitten, in the past I have never been much of a cat lover, I think because we had a go of it some years back and the cat was very un sociable. Snoki was just the opposite. She would meet and greet everyone, dive bomb from the stairs, swat the dog, box and just be around you. In your face. She ate a lot so we new she blended in with the rest of the family.&amp;nbsp; Well they all do. I live vicariously through them but I gain all their weight.&amp;nbsp; Well me and Rigby (Our Golden Retriever, the only other female in the family.)&amp;nbsp;

At about 5 months we took Snoki to have her spayed and final shots, indeed she was a permanent part of our family. The only negative to Snoki was we couldn&apos;t keep her inside. She was like Snoki Houdini.&amp;nbsp; She would leave to go outside and play. Chase everything, climb my favorite Cherry Tree but never went further than a house or two away.&amp;nbsp;I felt she should be out (Big&amp;nbsp;Mistake) how could you not want to breathe fresh air and play I would say. &amp;nbsp;She would sit on the chair on our front porch waiting for our return if we were out, or just lie in the sun next to the office door.&amp;nbsp; On Friday May 4th it was a rainy day.&amp;nbsp; She had gone out for a quick outing to find the weather not to her liking. Only to come back in and five minutes later be asking to go out again. That seemed to be the routine. I became a door maid for the cat.&amp;nbsp; So without hesitation she left. She didn&apos;t come back that day.&amp;nbsp; We hung many fliers, went to shelters and asked all the neighbors.&amp;nbsp; One neighbor had seen her the night before and her children played with her but alas, Snoki did not return.&amp;nbsp; Just typing this makes me sad.&amp;nbsp; We all miss her so and hope that she is safe in someones home and not gone from this world.

So .... what to do.&amp;nbsp; I doubt any kitty will replace her but there seems to be a lul here in the home. That excitement only a feline can bring and just a general feel of loss.&amp;nbsp;

Years ago I worked for a really cool company called Shell Containers designers of custom packaging. We would make the fancy boxes for perfume customers and liquor companies.&amp;nbsp; The owner came in one day with a giant cat. I thought it was fake. So beautiful! I had never seen one like it.&amp;nbsp; He said it was a Maine Coon Cat. Well I said one day I would have one of those.&amp;nbsp; So the memory bell rang in my head (a rare thing now a days, that I remember anything) and I discussed it with King John (Hubby. Mind you I am smiling as I typed that)&amp;nbsp; One thing I will say about my husband that maybe to few men realize, whatever makes me happy in-turn makes him happy (A smart one indeed!) &amp;nbsp;So again with that wink and a nod I went on my quest to find a Maine Coon.&amp;nbsp; My first was rescue pet. I always prefer that, give a loving animal a home.&amp;nbsp; However none of the places I contacted had them. They said they did but most were long hair mix and they were calling them Maine Coons.&amp;nbsp; With that I also know that animals are funny you don&apos;t know what you are going to get temperament wise.&amp;nbsp; The best animal I have every had is our dog Rigby. She came from a breeder and has been &amp;quot;Gold&amp;quot; (no pun intended, being she is Gold) since the day we brought her home.

I began my search.&amp;nbsp; My desire was for a Silver &amp;amp; Black but they are not easy to find.&amp;nbsp; I wanted a breeder with great credentials and also a boy.&amp;nbsp; A boy because of their size. I always said I love big cats... Closer to real big cats I guess.&amp;nbsp; I found a breeder all the way in Vista California and her babies are just beautiful and she breeds the rare Silver, Silver White and Silver &amp;amp; Black.&amp;nbsp;

I spoke with Dianna Davis of Avista cats and she mentioned that Black &amp;amp; Silver babies were coming very soon.&amp;nbsp; So I sent in my deposit on Friday and last night one baby boy Silver &amp;amp; Black was born right before midnight on the 15th.&amp;nbsp; He has 5 sisters. We have been so excited waiting for his entry into the world.&amp;nbsp; He will come to us via Contential Airlines (they have the best animal carry program) Feed, played with, air conditioning.... rock star treatment) sometime in July. Till then we are seeking the perfect name.&amp;nbsp; Any ideas are greatly considered and I will be posting pictures weekly once we receive them from the breeder so my friends can follow his adventure.&amp;nbsp; I do hope that when Snoki returns she is happy with her big, baby brother!</description>

					<title>The Parlotones play to sell out New York City crowd</title>
					<link>http://livemusicmedia.net/blogs.cfm?feature=2208116&amp;postid=820023</link>
					<description>To start I am not much of a blogger. Writing to the masses in hopes of a read. I find my New Yorker comes out in me and I find myself saying &amp;quot;why would anyone read this?&amp;quot; however, once in a while, with sound hangover still lingering in my head I find a subject worth speaking of.

As some of you may know, I DJ for Live Music Media, a INTERNET radio show who streams the music of their artists who have taking part or have been aired on their weekly regional TV Show HomeGrown Music TV. Both the radio and TV shows are about supporting new rock music. (&amp;nbsp;&lt;a target=&quot;_new&quot; href=&quot;http://www.livemusicmedia.net&quot;&gt;www.livemusicmedia.net )

About three years ago, THE PARLOTONES submitted a video for consideration to HomeGrown Music TV. I instantly fell deeply in love with an incredible sound of music from across the Atlantic. Four boys from South Africa. Kahn Morbee, Lead Vocal, Glen Hodgson, Bass and Backing Vocals, Paul Hodgson, Guitar and Neil Pauw on Drums. I must also mention Grant Benz who is the go to man. The &amp;quot;man behind the curtain&amp;quot; the sound man. Something every band wishes they had especially one that has fine tuned his craft perfectly to THE PARLOTONES&apos; mix.

So last night my friend and music videographer Jenn Santamariea found ourselves racing down the LIE (route i495) at 6:30 to get to Manhattan before 8PM. With Droid in hand and blackberry in the other, Jenn weaved through traffic like a pro. Only to be nearly run over by a Manhattan bicyclist after the show.

We arrived at The Mercury Lounge at 7:35 (now thats driving) as I look to my right THE PARLOTONES were walking into the club. We quickly found a parking spot which is a rare find in the city and proceeded to the show. As we approached the line to get in, it was wrapped around one city block (not bad for a Tuesday.) As we made our way into the club, I bumped into Grant a quick hello and he was off to help create some beautiful sounds for his band. The opening band was finishing up their set so I felt a beer was in order. After a $7.00 hit at the bar.... I mean really seven bucks, I knew coke was the better choice for the rest of the night. Jenn and I &amp;quot;clawed our way&amp;quot; to the front of the stage. As the sound men and staff set their instruments up the club filled to capacity. Think sardines in a can. All in prep for THE PARLOTONES. A quick sound check and within a blink The Parlotones walked right past me and headed on stage. A quick pat onto Glen&apos;s shoulder and a thumbs up for a great show I knew this was going to be great!

They played everything from the early days &amp;quot;Sun Comes Out&amp;quot; to &amp;quot;Dance, Dance, Dance&amp;quot; (stardust Galaxies, CD) they simply rocked. Not a note miss played or an ounce of energy left at the door. These boys come to play, to entertain, to sing beautiful love songs and to rock you with intensity. They played a interlude of Satisfaction by the Stones and may I add a RIPPING version of &amp;quot;Should We Fight Back.&amp;quot; My favorite of the night had to be &amp;quot;Disappear Without A Trace,&amp;quot; just a beautifully crafted song, with a vocal that will make your heart flutter. &amp;quot;I&apos;ll Be There,&amp;quot; is one of their staples, how the crowd knows every word and somehow my eyes weld with tears watching them perform this track. Perhaps a memory of someone passed or just a song that can move the coldest of hearts. Kahn Morbee brings his &amp;quot;A&amp;quot; game vocally every time. A true master of his craft. He is flawless in his ability to go to his falsetto with such incredible tone. His performance is always full of energy, as if he was born to be on the stage. The band has synergy. Synergy is the combination of timing and energy among-st the band. Probably the hardest thing to find. Probably why they are such a success. That unique mesh is what makes or breaks a band and this band has found theirs. From Stadiums in South Africa to the small clubs of the USA, these boys come to rock.

It seemed as if they had just started their set that it was over. Security met them on stage an walked them through the crowd. Probably the last time I will see them in such a setting, as I have mentioned in the past, it is only up for them. Their incredible work ethic, smart business decisions and incredible passion for their fans and what they do, ring out in every strum. I have met many bands in my days and I have never met a band so dedicated to the art and their fans.

THE PARLOTONES have sprinkled their Parlie dust on a sold out crowd in New York City on a Tuesday Night! I feel the next time I see them will be at a stadium or accepting their Grammy for best new artist.

Afterwords Jen and I clawed our way out of the club, waited for a good 1/2 hour and then the heat from all the people finally got to us. Outside the front was packed with adoring fans hoping to steal a picture with their favorite Parlotone or a autograph or two. I did get to spend a few minutes with each of them, a few hugs and a picture and as quickly as the show came and went so did my night with this magical band.

As Jennifer ran to the car to get her video camera in hopes of a quick interview with the band, she is almost run over by a New York City Bicyclist. Thank goodness it was a near miss but those guys are worse than a New York City Cab. Fortunately we were able to have a laugh over her near miss and not something more serious. Talk about a headline &amp;quot;Fan gets run over by bicyclist, at Parlotones Concert.&amp;quot; Paul enjoyed hearing the story and yes a brief hello was given by the boys on video and hopefully for all to see soon.

I must add if you haven&apos;t seen or heard of THE PARLOTONES, do so. To find out more about them, their concerts and of course where to purchase their music visit &lt;a target=&quot;_new&quot; href=&quot;http://www.myspace.com/theparlotones&quot;&gt;www.myspace.com/theparlotones
